Pocket Cloth Diapers

Pocket diapers are made of two layers of material which are sewn together; the outer layer is typically made of waterproof PUL, and the inner layer next to baby’s skin is usually a stay-dry material such as fleece or microsuede. Pocket diapers have an opening either at the front or back to form a pocket space between the outer waterproof layer and inner layer. Inserts are placed in the pocket area and provide the absorbency in pocket diapers. They fasten easily with either aplix (Velcro) or snaps.

The benefit of this two-part system is that you can fully customize it to your little one’s needs. Drying times are also much faster than in traditional all-in-one diapers as the inserts are separate rather than sewn-in. Pocket diapers can be ‘pre-stuffed’ following washing, offering the convenience of an all-in-one when your baby is on the change table.
